House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Lorenz Defensor announced that all members of Congress have been provided with the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte. This move comes as the House of Representatives prepares for plenary action next week.

Defensor emphasized the importance of adhering to the Supreme Court's rulings regarding due process in the ongoing impeachment proceedings. The court had previously highlighted the need for proper procedures to be followed.

During an interview on the 'Spokes' program, Defensor stated, "The House of Representatives is being very careful. We followed every instruction given by the high court."

The impeachment articles, which total approximately 93 pages, include summaries for each allegation to facilitate understanding among lawmakers and the public.

Defensor noted that the House Committee on Rules has already integrated the justice committee's report into their agenda, enabling discussions during the upcoming session. All lawmakers have received the impeachment materials in both printed and digital formats.

Every allegation or article has a summary to ensure clarity for all congressmen, lawyer or not. The public will understand the Articles of Impeachment.

The Articles of Impeachment include allegations of misusing P612.5 million in confidential funds, bribery within the Department of Education, and unexplained wealth linked to Duterte's Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth.

Additionally, the documents highlight transactions flagged by the Anti-Money Laundering Council amounting to P6.77 billion and alleged threats made by Duterte against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other officials.

The House justice committee had previously found probable cause for impeachment after several hearings. A vote on the Articles is anticipated during the session scheduled for May 11.
