From May 26 to 30, naval and air units from the Philippines and the United States successfully completed their third bilateral maritime cooperative activity in the Bajo de Masinloc area, commonly known as Scarborough Shoal.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reported that the exercise involved multiple units, including the guided-missile frigate BRP Antonio Luna (FFG-15) and various aircraft from both nations.
Details of the Maritime Exercises
In addition to the BRP Antonio Luna, the Philippine Coast Guard participated with the multi-role response vessel BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702). The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command contributed the USCGC Midgett (WMSL-757) and an MH-65 helicopter.
The successful conduct of the recent MCA reflects the enduring commitment of the Philippines and the United States to deepen defense cooperation.
