La Union's provincial government has provided financial assistance to 209 farmers and fisherfolk affected by Typhoon Uwan.
Each recipient received P8,000 during a distribution event at the Ortega Convention Center.
The aid aligns with Provincial Ordinance No. 425-2023, also known as the "Agricultural Emergency Trust Fund."
These beneficiaries were impacted by Typhoon Uwan, which struck in November 2025, causing significant damage to agriculture.
The assistance specifically targeted residents from Bangar, Bauang, Caba, Luna, and Sudipen.
Governor Ortega emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector, especially during crises.
