Overcoming Obstacles to Parenthood
Despite being loving aunts to their nieces and nephews, the couple believed having a child of their own was a distant dream due to restrictive Philippine laws regarding assisted reproductive technologies.
Their journey took a turn when Icy's employer offered fertility support for LGBTQ+ couples. This opportunity led them to New Jersey, where they underwent intrauterine insemination (IUI).
After a nerve-wracking wait, Icy received a positive pregnancy test in 2023, coinciding with their wedding in the U.S.
“It was scary. We weren’t sure if we could form the baby,” Meann shared, reflecting on their emotional journey.

Jacob was born in November 2023, and he quickly became the center of their world. At just over two years old, he is lively and expressive around his moms, showcasing a vibrant personality.
Meann and Icy strive to raise Jacob in a screen-free environment, fostering his love for books and music. Jacob's personality reflects both his moms, with Icy's playful nature and Meann's introverted traits.
The Joys of Family Life
Traveling as a family has added new dimensions to their adventures. The couple enjoys experiencing new places through Jacob's eyes, making memories that deepen their bond.

“Raising a child isn’t a joke. You have to be financially, emotionally, and physically stable,” Meann advised.
