The GMA Kapuso Foundation has stepped up its support for persons with disabilities (PWDs) by donating essential mobility aids in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija, and Oas, Albay.
This initiative coincides with the observance of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week in July.
In total, the foundation provided wheelchairs, crutches, and canes to 46 individuals across both locations.
Impact on Beneficiaries
This has been a huge help to me. Thank you so much, GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Grace Batalla, beneficiary
Among the beneficiaries was Grace Batalla, a teacher who suffered a stroke, leaving her with limited mobility.
Despite her challenges, Grace continues to support her family through T-shirt printing, earning P7 per dozen.
Jasper Gallardo, another beneficiary, faced paralysis after a severe accident. His previous wheelchair was borrowed from his grandmother.
Both beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the assistance, which significantly enhances their mobility and independence.
Additional Support and Donations
- 26 PWDs in Santa Rosa received wheelchairs and food packs.
- 20 PWDs in Oas were provided with wheelchairs and blankets.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation also distributed food packs, foam, and blankets to the recipients, showcasing a holistic approach to support.
For those interested in contributing to the foundation's efforts, donations can be made through various banking and online platforms.
