With the academic year on the horizon and living costs climbing, GMA Kapuso Foundation has stepped in to assist 2,500 students from Ilocos Norte. The foundation's recent donation of complete school supplies targets children of local farmers, fisherfolk, and salt producers.
Supporting Rural Communities in Ilocos Norte
This is a significant blessing for our schools, especially in our coastal communities. The money that would have been spent on school supplies is no longer a worry for them.

In Bayog, Alma Acupido works tirelessly under the sun, collecting seawater to produce salt. She described her labor as grueling, noting the difficulty of transporting heavy seawater. The salt is sold locally, providing a modest income to support her family.
Similarly, Lydia Marquez from Badoc relies on garlic farming. Despite harvesting in March, she faces challenges selling her produce due to market saturation.
GMA Kapuso Foundation's initiative alleviates the financial strain on these families, allowing them to redirect funds toward other essential needs.
School Principal Maricon Agpoon expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the pressing financial challenges families face with rising prices of goods.
Those interested in contributing to GMA Kapuso Foundation can make donations through various banks and payment platforms. More details are available on their official website.
