Fishermen like Pantaleon Igloso from Masbate have expressed the challenges they face due to high fuel costs and unfavorable weather conditions. Igloso, who supports his five children, has been forced to take on part-time construction work as fishing becomes less viable.
Mark Marqueda from Limasawa Island also highlighted the financial burden of fuel prices. He noted the price of gasoline has surged from ₱65 to ₱92 per liter, significantly impacting their livelihoods.
