Davao City is gearing up for the Dula Kadayawan 2026, showcasing the talents and traditions of its 11 indigenous tribes. The event is scheduled for August 15 at the city's iconic People's Park.
Celebrating Cultural Heritage
Event coordinator Datu Tahabikal announced that the participating tribes include Ata, Bagobo-Klata, Bagobo-Tagabawa, Matigsalug, Obu Manuvu, Kagan, Maguindanaon, Maranao, Iranun, Sama, and Tausug.
The event will feature traditional games that highlight the skills and unity of the tribes. Competitions include Kakasing, Pana, and Tug of War for the indigenous people, while Moro groups will participate in games such as Sipa sa Manggis and Kagkingking.
Dula sa Kadayawan is more than just a competition. It is a showcase of unity among and within the tribes. It is also a way of showing our rich culture.
