Sapphic nightlife in Manila is undergoing a transformative shift thanks to content creators Cassie Uy-oco, known as Caz, and Pepper Solis. Their initiative, For the Love of Women (FTLOW), is designed to create safe and inclusive spaces for women who love women.
Forging a New Path in Nightlife
We realized that we already have a community we interact with online, so why not take things offline?
Caz Uy-oco
Caz and Pepper met in 2023 as rising influencers, and their union blossomed amidst the resurgence of post-pandemic nightlife. Their mutual love for partying led to the establishment of FTLOW in 2025, inspired by their own experiences of feeling unwelcome in traditional party settings.
- Inclusive events for sapphics of all identities.
- Themed parties that encourage interaction and connection.
- Strict consent policies for photography and personal space.
At FTLOW, everyone from lesbians and bisexual women to trans women is welcome, creating an environment where attendees can express themselves freely. Caz pointed out the difference in energy when people understand the nuances of being sapphic.
Empowering Through Safe Spaces
The founders prioritize consent and privacy at their events. For example, attendees must give permission for their photos to be taken, ensuring that their comfort is respected.
Pepper highlighted their commitment to both physical and psychological safety, stating, "We’re promoting not just physical safety, but also the psychological aspect where guests feel secure as they enjoy themselves."
FTLOW's first anniversary celebration is set for June 27 at Lust Nightclub in Quezon City, promising continued support for the sapphic community. Caz and Pepper envision their platform as a beacon for both younger and older generations, aiming to change the narrative surrounding sapphic spaces.
As they look to the future, Caz and Pepper remain dedicated to fostering a culture where sapphics can love openly and authentically. "It’s okay to take your own time in accepting yourself," Caz reminded attendees.
