Cebu is set to host the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia from Naga City, Camarines Sur, during a special mass on Sunday, July 12, 2026. This event will take place at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, also known as Capitol Parish, starting at 11 a.m.
Fr. Lois Sarmiento, the vice rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, will officiate the mass. The Bicol Association of Cebu Inc. (BACI) encourages local residents to attend this significant occasion.
A Rare Opportunity for Devotees
The image will remain at the Capitol Parish overnight, before returning to Naga City the following day. This visit marks one of the few times the revered image, affectionately known as 'Ina,' will be in Cebu.
The Peñafrancia Festival, celebrated each third Sunday of September, attracts millions of devotees to Bicol, highlighting the strong devotion to the Virgin Mary in the region.
