The Iloilo City Government has launched a significant initiative to bolster mental health support for students by partnering with the Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Inc. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), aims to enhance the existing Iloilo City Mental Health–Raise Psychosocial Support Program.

Collaboration for Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Through this partnership, we will strengthen our early intervention and referral systems so those who need help can receive it sooner, before their struggles become heavier.

This collaboration marks a milestone as Sagrado becomes the first educational institution to join the city's mental health initiative. Mayor Raisa Treñas emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and the need for improved support services for students and the broader school community.

  • Workshops and seminars on mental health topics
  • Counseling and psychological first aid services
  • Mental health screenings and stress debriefing sessions

Under the agreement, various activities will be organized to bring mental health services closer to students, teachers, and guidance personnel. The initiative also includes training programs for mental health advocates and peer facilitators.

Mayor Treñas expressed hopes that this partnership with Sagrado will pave the way for similar collaborations with other educational institutions, broadening access to mental health resources for students across the city.

The Iloilo City Mental Health–Raise Partnership Program is a key component of the Health and Social Services Pillar of the Treñas administration's Rise-to-Action Framework, which aims to enhance access to quality mental health care for all Ilonggos.
