The initiative coincides with National Newborn Screening Week, celebrated every first week of October, highlighting the critical role of early health assessments.
Parents like Arlyn Inoc have shared positive experiences, revealing that their son Nick was diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism shortly after birth.
Thanks to the timely intervention from newborn screening, Nick has received the necessary treatment and is thriving at five years old.
- Newborn supplies were distributed to mothers.
- Hygiene kits and food were provided as part of the health caravan.
Mothers expressed appreciation for the initiative, with Jesty Mae Macaraig noting, "It's a huge help. It really makes a big difference that there is free newborn screening for our babies."
The GMA Kapuso Foundation continues to encourage support for its various health projects, with donations accepted through multiple banks and payment platforms.
