During her appearance on GMA's Unang Hirit, Sharmaine was asked to comment on the orange that humorously complains about its name.
She revealed her surprise, stating, "Natakot ako, sabi ko ‘Ano kaya ang nangyayari?‘ Yun pala, gusto lang nilang ipangalan ang Sharmaine sa orange."
The playful banter continued as host Arnold Clavio jokingly inquired if she had authorized the use of her name. Sharmaine quipped, "I don’t have the rights eh," prompting laughter from the studio.
In a surprising twist, she disclosed her allergy to oranges and other citrus fruits, saying, "Sa totoo lang, allergic ako sa orange. Lahat ng mga citrus allergic ako, ‘pag nakain lang."
However, Sharmaine was lighthearted about the situation. She mentioned that if she were to change her name, she would embrace the new identity of 'Orange Arnaiz'.
In a playful response, she stated, "‘Yun na nga lang ‘yung kapalit. Sige, papayag ako na gagawing Sharmaine ‘yung orange. Pero ako, dapat Orange Arnaiz na."
The humorous exchange highlights the unique ways social media can transform everyday events into engaging narratives.
