Shakira will commence a twelve-concert series in Madrid on Friday, marking the conclusion of her world tour. This event also signifies her first return to Spain in eight years.
The 49-year-old pop icon is set to perform at a temporary venue designed to accommodate 50,000 fans, located in southern Madrid. The concerts will run until October 11.
Madrid's authorities are anticipating a substantial economic boost from this event, especially following a series of successful performances by fellow artist Bad Bunny earlier this year.
Shakira has not performed in Spain since 2018, prior to her public split from former football star Gerard Pique in 2022.

Her world tour began in February 2025, promoting her album "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" (Women no longer cry). This album, which reflects on her breakup, earned her a fourth Grammy award.
Over her career, Shakira has sold more than 95 million records globally. She is also known for performing at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Her return to the stage comes after settling a tax fraud case in Spain, where she paid a fine of 7.3 million euros and cleared an additional 17.45 million euros with the tax authorities.
