The Met Gala 2026 unfolded with an impressive display of fashion as K-pop idols and Asian celebrities brought their distinctive flair to the iconic event. At the Costume Institute benefit gala in New York, members of Blackpink and aespa captivated attendees with their edgy and artistic outfits.
Blackpink’s Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa each showcased their unique interpretations of the event's theme. Jisoo made her debut in a pastel-pink Dior gown embellished with floral embroidery, while Jennie dazzled in a sequined Chanel dress that shimmered in shades of blue.
Rosé opted for a classic black YSL gown with a daring slit and a hand-painted design, enhancing her look with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Lisa brought an element of drama in a custom Robert Win gown, complete with a striking veil featuring 3D-printed arms.
Also turning heads were Karina and Ningning from aespa, who embraced their heritage with a hanbok-inspired gown and a dramatic black swan silhouette from Gucci, respectively. Their outfits exemplified the blend of traditional and contemporary fashion.
Ahn Hyo-seop, known for voicing a character in 'KPop Demon Hunters', made a memorable entrance in a sequined suit, while other stars like EJAE and Audrey Nuna opted for elegant silver and black dresses, adding to the evening's glam.
Model Eileen Gu took a whimsical approach with her Iris van Herpen gown, which featured 15,000 glass bubbles, showcasing a fusion of technology and art.
“It’s a play on surrealism, movement, nature, and fun,” Gu said of her unique creation.
