Marina Summers, the renowned drag artist, has publicly condemned transphobia and online harassment following her hosting role at Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2026.

In a heartfelt social media statement, Summers expressed that her participation in the pageant was a significant moment in her career.

However, she was taken aback by the intense volume of hate and threats she received after the event.

I did not expect the vile and alarming amount of transphobia, hate and even death threats thrown at me.

Call for Kindness and Understanding

The controversy intensified when Summers' sister, fellow drag artist Angel Galang, made comments about her hosting performance that sparked negative reactions online.

Summers stated that while she was hurt by Galang's remarks, she does not support the hateful backlash directed at her sister.

While I was admittedly hurt by her statements, I do not condone any hurtful and hateful words thrown at her because of it.
