Mandaue City is gearing up for its Free Concert Night on May 7, with 764 security personnel assigned to ensure public safety. The concert will take place at Ayala Gatewalk in Barangay Subangdaku.
A ceremonial send-off for security personnel was held earlier in the day, led by Mayor Thadeo "Jonkie" Ouano and Mandaue City Police Office Director PCol. Cirilo Acosta Jr. Various agencies, including the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Coast Guard, are collaborating to maintain order.
Key Concert Highlights
The Fiesta Concert Night features popular artists TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan, making it a highlight of the city's festive celebrations for St. Joseph on May 8.
I’m inviting everyone, all the Mandauehanons, this is your fiesta, our celebration... we have selected these artists to make Mandauehanons happy.
Mayor Thadeo Ouano
Mayor Ouano reminded concertgoers to adhere to safety guidelines for a smooth event. Attendees should secure personal belongings and stick to entry protocols, as only transparent bags will be allowed.
Logistics and Transportation
Initially, the concert was planned for Heritage Plaza, but due to size constraints and transit route issues for the Asean Summit, the venue was moved to Subangdaku. Free shuttle services will be provided from Mandaue City Sports Complex to the concert site from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with return trips from 10 p.m. to midnight.
