Kodak Black, a well-known rapper, was arrested in Orlando, Florida, on May 6, facing charges of drug trafficking. The 28-year-old, born Bill Kapri, was booked for allegedly trafficking MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy or molly.

Following his arrest, Kapri entered a written not guilty plea and requested a jury trial. He waived his right to appear at a future arraignment, with his bond set at $75,000.

The arrest stems from a police incident in November 2023 involving gunshots reported in the area. Officers discovered Kapri and others near parked luxury SUVs.

During a search of a Lamborghini SUV, police found a white substance on a $100 bill, as well as a pink bag containing MDMA, approximately $37,000 in cash, and documents with Kapri's name.

An officer noted that the pink bag matched one featured in a photo posted on Kapri's Instagram. Despite the evidence, Kapri denied ownership of the bag but claimed the money belonged to his business.

This is not Kapri's first encounter with law enforcement. In 2023, he was arrested while asleep at the wheel, later found to have oxycodone in his system. Additionally, he faced charges in 2022 related to oxycodone trafficking.

Kapri has faced multiple legal issues over the years, including a federal prison sentence commuted by former President Donald Trump in January 2021.
