George Clooney, the celebrated American actor, will be recognized with the prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival this September.
The 83rd edition of the festival is set to take place from September 2 to 12, 2026.

This festival is without question my favorite and to be given the Golden Lion is a tremendous honor. It also probably means I’m old, but I’ll take it.

Clooney, 65, has a long history with the festival, first attending nearly 30 years ago with his film *Out of Sight* in 1998. Since then, he has returned multiple times, premiering significant works such as *Good Night, and Good Luck* and *The Ides of March*.

Clooney's connection to Venice extends beyond film. He married Amal Clooney in a lavish ceremony in the city in 2014, further solidifying his bond with this cultural hub.
