Fast Times, the motoring division of The Manila Times, was awarded the Silver Mile Luminary honor at the 25th Henry Ford Awards, solidifying its reputation in Philippine automotive journalism.
The Henry Ford Awards, organized by Ford Philippines, is the only awards program in the country dedicated to automotive journalism. This year's theme, "Stars and Stories in Silver," commemorated the event's 25th anniversary.
Anjo Perez, editor of Fast Times, accepted the award from Ford Philippines Tax Director Jo-Anne Matas, highlighting the publication's long-standing contributions to the field.
The Silver Mile Luminary accolade honors individuals and publications with a substantial body of work recognized throughout the awards' history.
Fast Times has been a staple in local motoring journalism since its inception in 2003, evolving from a small motorsports insert into a comprehensive weekly section that covers a wide array of topics, including cars, motorcycles, and transport issues.
The section has received numerous Best Motoring Section awards over the years, affirming its key role in the automotive media landscape.
This year, other Silver Mile Luminaries included notable journalists such as Jason Ang, Ulysses Ang, and James Deakin, among others.
Pedro Simoes, Managing Director of Ford Philippines, emphasized the importance of automotive journalists in capturing the industry's evolution.
As we celebrate the 25th Henry Ford Awards, we are proud to recognize outstanding journalists and outlets whose gift of storytelling, integrity, and professionalism have made a lasting impact on the automotive industry.
