Dolly Parton has officially canceled her postponed Las Vegas residency, citing health challenges that leave her feeling disoriented. The 80-year-old country legend reassured fans through a recent Instagram video that her conditions are treatable.
"The good news is I'm responding really well to meds and treatments and I'm improving every day," Parton stated. However, she noted that the medications affect her ability to perform. "It's going to take me a little while before I'm up to stage-performance level," she explained.
Parton humorously acknowledged the challenges of performing while feeling "swimmy headed," referencing her signature high heels and heavy costumes.
While she did not provide extensive details about her health, Parton mentioned her ongoing struggles with kidney stones and issues affecting her immune and digestive systems.
"Everything I have is treatable, so I'm going with that," she added, emphasizing her focus on recovery.
Despite the setback, Parton is continuing her work on opening a museum and hotel in Nashville, along with her upcoming Broadway musical, "Dolly: A True Original Musical."
Parton's Las Vegas residency was initially set for December but was postponed due to health concerns. The performances were rescheduled for September before being canceled entirely.
In a previous announcement, Parton expressed her commitment to her career, stating, "Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet."
Over the past year, Parton has faced various health challenges, including a kidney stone that caused significant issues. She humorously reassured fans that she is not ready to retire.
I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me. And I ain’t done working.
