Approximately 50,000 fans of K-pop group BTS gathered outside Mexico's National Palace on Wednesday. The members waved to the eager crowd after a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum.
BTS is scheduled to perform three concerts in Mexico City on May 7, 9, and 10, with over 135,000 tickets sold almost instantly.
After nearly four years away for military service, the group made a triumphant return to the global stage in March.
One member, Kim Nam-joon, expressed his affection for the fans in Spanish, saying, 'I love you, I adore you. Thank you very much!''
Sheinbaum later shared a photo with the group, holding their new album 'ARIRANG' and mentioned she urged them to return next year.
Lizeth Zarate, a coordinator for the Zocalo, confirmed the enormous turnout, estimating the crowd at around 50,000.
Estefany Victoriano, a 25-year-old fan, declared BTS as her entire world, while 18-year-old Zoe Perez, overwhelmed by the moment, expressed her emotions about not securing a ticket.
