Five new classrooms were inaugurated by the GMA Kapuso Foundation at Panugnawan Elementary School in Medellin and Talisay Integrated School in Daanbantayan, Cebu.

These classrooms aim to enhance educational facilities for students affected by a devastating 6.9-magnitude earthquake in 2025 that led to temporary classes being held in covered courts.

Strengthening Educational Infrastructure

"We really need this kind of help," said CESO V Division Superintendent Senen Priscillo Paulin. "The shortage of classrooms is very much felt. We are very grateful to GMA Kapuso Foundation and its partners."

  • Three classrooms with comfort rooms at Panugnawan Elementary School.
  • Two classrooms featuring smart TVs and facilities for persons with disabilities at Talisay Integrated School.

Constructed in just five months, the Kapuso classrooms can withstand wind speeds of up to 280 kilometers per hour, ensuring safety for students.

In addition to the classrooms, the foundation provided a smart TV for teaching and contributed to the school's feeding program through tree and vegetable seed planting.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation's Executive Vice President and COO, Rikki Escudero-Catibog, noted the importance of these efforts in reassuring worried families after the earthquake.

Local partnerships, including Cut Unlimited Inc. and Noel Bazaar, played a key role in facilitating the construction of these classrooms.

For those interested in supporting ongoing projects by the GMA Kapuso Foundation, donations can be made through various financial institutions and digital platforms.
