Cadet First Class Christine Kaye Demisana Librada from Lipa City, Batangas, has been named valedictorian of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) 'Talang Dala' Class of 2026. The graduation ceremony is set for May 16.
At 23 years old, Librada stood out among 207 graduates with her exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and military aptitude. She is set to become an officer in the Philippine Army.
Librada has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Presidential Saber, Philippine Army Saber, and the Australian Defense Best Overall award. She is the daughter of a retired military officer and an entrepreneur.
Before joining the PMA, Librada graduated with high honors from De La Salle University Manila. She is the eighth female cadet to achieve the valedictorian title since the academy began admitting women in 1993.
Top Graduates and Special Awards
Cadet 1CL Mark John Vincent Catacutan from Zamboanga del Sur will graduate magna cum laude, ranking second in the class. He has also earned several awards, including the Vice Presidential Saber.
The top ten graduates include Cadets from various provinces, highlighting a diverse group of achievers. Among them are Thomas Edgar Isla Sepulchre from Pampanga and Ian Harold Durana Hubilla from Sorsogon.
The PMA has also recognized outstanding cadets in fields such as journalism, athletics, and leadership. Special awards were given to cadets for their excellence in these areas.
The graduating class consists of 142 males and 65 females, with 76 set to join the Army, 62 the Air Force, and 69 the Navy.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to attend the graduation ceremony as the guest of honor, alongside senior military officials and international defense attaches.
