An 18-year-old man, known by the alias 'Aaron,' was brutally killed in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo, Iloilo City, on Sunday night. He was tied to a tree and stabbed multiple times, with a knife found lodged in his head.
Details of the Incident
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) confirmed that Aaron was able to name his attacker, identified as 'Earl,' who was arrested shortly after the incident. Earl, also 18, reportedly confessed to the crime.
One of the motives that we are looking into is that they were previously in a relationship, and jealousy is a possible motive.

According to investigators, Earl's jealousy may have driven him to commit the act. Aaron had reportedly begun seeing someone else, which may have prompted Earl's actions.
Earl had allegedly planned the attack in advance and sought assistance from a 19-year-old female acquaintance, known as 'Cris,' who provided the knife used in the stabbing. Although she was not present during the attack, police view her as an accomplice.
After the brutal attack, Aaron was found alive and transported to the Western Visayas Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight on Monday.
Earl returned home shortly after the incident, appearing with blood stains on his arm. When police arrived, he reportedly admitted to the crime.
Authorities plan to file murder charges against both Earl and Cris. They are also looking into the potential involvement of other individuals in this violent crime.
Col. Parilla noted that despite Aaron's larger physical stature, his ability to defend himself was compromised as his hands were bound at the time of the assault.
