CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) has reported a significant reduction in focus crimes as part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government's (DILG) Safer Cities Initiative.
From December 24, 2025, to April 5, 2026, there were 939 focus crime cases. This number dropped to 894 during the 103 days of the initiative's implementation, from April 6 to July 17, 2026.
Focus Crimes and Enforcement Details
Focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, motor vehicle theft, and motorcycle theft. Overall, reported cases decreased by 1,623, from 9,506 to 7,883 in the same respective periods.
Particularly notable was the decline in carnapping, rape, physical injuries, and theft incidents.
In addition to crime reductions, PRO-3 conducted rigorous enforcement of local ordinances, resulting in 712,437 violations. Among these, 168,657 offenders were fined, generating PHP71.95 million in revenue.
The decline in focus crimes shows that the DILG's Safer Cities Initiative is making a real difference in Central Luzon,” said PRO-3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez.
This initiative aligns with the Philippine National Police's broader agenda, emphasizing community engagement and responsive policing. The sustained enforcement efforts aim to enhance public safety and deter criminal activities.
