Authorities in Ramon, Isabela, are searching for two motorcycle riders involved in the fatal shooting of a dog. The incident occurred on April 24 and was recorded on CCTV.
According to Ramon Police Chief Maj. Jay-ar Olya-on, one suspect fired a 9mm pistol at the dog along the Isabela–Alfonso Lista road in Barangay Ambatali.
The investigation is being conducted under the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, with police utilizing surveillance footage and the motorcycle's license plate number to identify the perpetrators.
Olya-on reported that the suspects, who originated from Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, were tracked through various locations in the area, including San Mateo and Cauayan.

CCTV footage captured the dog barking at the motorcycle before one of the riders turned back and shot it. The dog succumbed to its injuries shortly after.
Jesslyn Laddaran, the dog's owner, emphasized the unjustifiability of the act, stating, "It is not right and never justifiable to shoot a dog to death."
While local ordinances require dogs to be leashed, Olya-on noted that there should have been an alternative response to the dog's barking rather than violence.
