Police in Ramon, Isabela, are actively searching for two men on a motorcycle who allegedly shot and killed a dog on April 24. The incident occurred along the Isabela–Alfonso Lista road in Barangay Ambatali.
According to Police Maj. Jay-ar Olya-on, the suspects used a 9mm pistol to shoot the dog. Authorities are leveraging CCTV footage to locate the motorcycle's plate number.
We tracked CCTV footage from Ambatali showing that the suspects, who came from Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, passed through San Mateo, Cabatuan, and later Cauayan. We hope this will help as we continue tracing the plate number through the cybercrime laboratory.

The shooting is being investigated under the Animal Welfare Act of 1998. In addition to animal cruelty charges, the suspects could also face charges related to illegal discharge and possession of firearms.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. when the dog began barking at the motorcycle. The riders reportedly turned around, and one of them shot the animal.
Jesslyn Laddaran, the dog's owner, acknowledged that the dog was not leashed but condemned the shooting as unjustifiable. She emphasized that reporting the incident to the owner or barangay officials would have been a more appropriate response.
Maj. Olya-on noted that while local laws require pets to be leashed, violence is never an acceptable solution.
