Maj. Shellamie Chang, PNP PRO 9 Public Information Officer
The investigation follows a shooting that resulted in the deaths of two individuals: the student shooter and his victim. Authorities have recovered two firearms from the scene, which are currently under PNP custody for ballistic examination.
Chang noted that investigators have already met with the shooter's father but are sensitive to the family's loss and ongoing burial preparations. They continue to maintain contact with the family for further inquiries.
As of now, police have not provided updates regarding the number of injured individuals or their conditions. Investigators clarified misinformation circulating online, stating the shooter did not fall from the building. Instead, he entered through the basement, proceeded to the fourth floor to shoot the victim, and then moved to the fifth floor where he took his own life.
This incident highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding campus safety and the mental health of students in educational institutions across the Philippines.
