The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced the capture of the last of three suspects linked to an election-related shooting in Silay City, Negros Occidental. This incident, which occurred on May 12, 2025, resulted in the deaths of two campaign volunteers and injuries to seven others.
Final Suspect Apprehended
The final suspect, known as alias 'Clar,' was arrested on May 28 in Purok Paho, Barangay Rizal. At 43, he was the most wanted individual in the Negros Island Region and faces multiple charges, including six counts of frustrated murder.
The arrests of Joseph and Clar represent a significant milestone in our ongoing campaign against fugitives.

Joseph, the second suspect, was taken into custody a month earlier in Hacienda Grande, while Barangay Captain Arnie Benedicto surrendered right after the shooting incident. All three are accused of attacking Team Ugyon volunteers of Mayor Joedith Gallego.
The PNP emphasized that these arrests are part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety and uphold justice, particularly in light of increasing concerns over election-related violence in the region.
