A 50-year-old man is facing legal action for allegedly assaulting his former partner inside a boutique in Quezon City. The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday in Barangay Bahay Toro.
The victim, 34, reported the assault to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Project 6 station, prompting authorities to prepare charges against the suspect.
The charges relate to Republic Act No. 9262, known as the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act. Police have identified the suspect as Joel Tan.
According to the police, Tan entered the boutique uninvited and physically attacked his ex-partner before fleeing the scene. Authorities did not disclose any details regarding potential motives.
The QCPD is urging anyone with information about Tan's whereabouts to contact local police or the QC Helpline.
