Former broadcaster Jay Sonza has been released after posting bail of P10,000 on Monday. He is facing charges for allegedly publishing fake medical records of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag announced Sonza's release during a press briefing.
Sonza's attorney, Mark Tolentino, provided confirmation of the release order from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 118.
Sonza arrived at the RTC in Pasay City early Monday for his arraignment, which has been postponed to June 6 after his legal team filed a motion to quash the case.
The NBI arrested Sonza in Quezon City last Thursday evening. The charges stem from allegations made in February regarding the dissemination of the fake medical records.
