An elderly American man and his Filipino wife were tragically found dead in their Dumaguete City home on September 2, 2026, following a violent home invasion.
Mark Duell, 72, and his 71-year-old wife, Elsie, were discovered by local emergency responders after a distress call was made around 6:08 a.m.
Details of the Incident
Authorities reported that the couple had been married for a decade and often traveled between the United States and the Philippines.
According to police, two armed intruders entered the property around 4:00 a.m., beginning their assault by overpowering the couple's house helper.
The intruders tied her up and then proceeded to the main house, where they shot the victims multiple times.
