The driver of a grayish-blue Toyota Vios has surrendered to the Quezon City Police after allegedly leaving a gas station without paying for P1,500 worth of fuel.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:16 AM on Sunday at a gas station located along Mindanao Avenue.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) spokesperson Maj. Jennifer Gannaban confirmed the driver's surrender in a text message on Thursday.

Recent Gas-and-Run Cases

This marks the third gas-and-run incident reported in Quezon City in recent months. In March, a transport network vehicle driver fled a gas station without paying for P5,000 worth of fuel.

In another case last month, three individuals left a gas station in Barangay Payatas without settling a P1,500 bill. Two of those suspects were arrested.

The rise in such incidents coincides with the ongoing oil supply crisis fueled by conflicts in the Middle East.

The police are continuing their investigation into the recent spate of gas-and-run cases in the area.
