Authorities in Cebu City and Mandaue apprehended three drug suspects during buy-bust operations over the weekend, seizing ₱782,000 worth of suspected shabu.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7) reported that the operations occurred on Saturday, May 9, in collaboration with local police.

Cebu City Operation Details

The first operation took place around 11:35 a.m. on Jumalon Street in Barangay Basak Pardo, where a suspect identified as 'Negro,' 40, was arrested.

Police seized two packs of shabu weighing approximately 55 grams, valued at ₱374,000, along with a .45-caliber pistol and other items.

The suspect was reported to be capable of distributing around 250 grams of illegal drugs weekly.

Negro has prior cases of murder and drug possession, both of which remain unresolved while he is out on bail.

Mandaue City Operation Details

Less than an hour later, at 12:25 p.m., PDEA agents captured two brothers, 'Fermin,' 29, and 'Billy,' 34, in Barangay Tipolo.

This operation yielded seven packs of shabu weighing around 60 grams, valued at ₱408,000, along with drug paraphernalia.

The brothers were previously under surveillance for their alleged distribution capacity of 20 to 30 grams weekly.

PDEA-7

Billy had a prior arrest in 2022 for drug-related offenses and is currently a plea bargainer.

Current Status of Suspects

As of May 11, all three suspects are in custody at the PDEA-7 detention facility.

Charges of selling and possessing illegal drugs will be filed against them under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Negro will also face additional charges related to firearm possession.
