Cebu authorities are intensifying traffic operations along the Transcentral Highway (TCH) following a tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old rider. The joint initiative involves multiple agencies aiming to curb reckless driving and noise disturbances.
Collaborative Efforts to Enhance Road Safety
At present, the Cebu City Police Office is already coordinating with the TEU, together with personnel from the CCTO, HPG, and LTO 7, to conduct a joint operation in the area against vehicles, particularly those using illegal mufflers.

The enforcement measures come after the death of rider Jigger Teledorio Jayme. He died from injuries sustained in a collision with a pickup truck on July 12, 2026. The accident occurred when Jayme's motorcycle veered into the wrong lane at a curve, colliding with the oncoming vehicle.
Witnesses reported that the pickup truck was driven by Ramil Alindao Dico, 42, who was traveling toward Cebu City. The police have urged drivers to adhere to speed limits on this stretch of road, which has seen several incidents due to reckless behavior.
Residents along the TCH have voiced concerns over noise disturbances caused by motorcycles with modified exhaust systems. The local government plans to strictly enforce existing noise ordinances to address community complaints.
