A 29-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident in Catmon, Cebu, early on May 4. The victim, Elvin Mansueto Sanchez, was returning home from a fiesta when his motorcycle crashed into a roadside canal.
The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on the national highway in Barangay Panalipan. Sanchez, a resident of Barangay Looc in Danao City, reportedly lost control of his motorcycle, which then overshot the road.
According to the local police, Sanchez was traveling at a high speed when he swerved and was thrown back onto the pavement upon impact.
Immediate Response
Emergency responders rushed Sanchez to Sogod District Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival due to severe injuries.
Police identified the victim through his driver’s license and other identification documents found at the scene. His family was notified promptly.
We were able to immediately determine his identity because he had with him his license and several IDs. His family claimed his remains shortly after we contacted them.

Ongoing Investigation
The motorcycle involved in the crash has been taken to the Catmon Municipal Police Station for further assessment. Investigators are working to gather more information about the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
