Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confirmed the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) is safe following a menacing incident on July 16, 2026. Two bullets accompanied by a threatening note were discovered on campus.

BCPO director Col. Eugene Rebadomia reported that the note contained the phrase “pamatyon ta kamo” (I will kill you all), which raised alarm among students and faculty.

In response, students, including those taking exams, were evacuated as a safety precaution. The university's chief security guard promptly alerted the police for an immediate investigation.

Police Response and Investigation Details

Authorities conducted a thorough search of the campus and found no explosive devices.

Despite the swift action taken by law enforcement, the individual responsible for the threatening note and bullets remains unidentified. The absence of CCTV cameras in the new building has hindered the investigation.

Rebadomia reassured the public that there was no bomb threat at UNO-R and emphasized the importance of maintaining safety on campus.
