In a significant crackdown, three Korean nationals were arrested in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City, on June 16 for operating an illegal online gaming enterprise that employed two Filipino minors.
Operation Details and Findings
The arrests followed a complaint from the mothers of two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17, who spent excessive hours at an apartment occupied by the suspects.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from Police Station 4 discovered one of the minors working at a computer. Reports indicate that the boys were recruited to play the online game 'Lineage Classic' and were required to meet daily quotas.
The minors were allegedly offered P500 per shift, working overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., under conditions that raised serious concerns.
