In response to the devastating earthquake that struck General Santos City, McDonald’s Philippines is launching a significant humanitarian effort through its Kindness Kitchen initiative. The fast-food giant plans to distribute more than 10,000 meals to communities in Southern Mindanao impacted by the disaster.

The immediate response saw 500 hot meals provided within the first 24 hours to rescue workers and volunteers aiding in recovery efforts. An additional 2,000 meals are set to reach General Santos City in the following days.

Alongside residents, McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen meals will also cater to health professionals and other frontline responders tirelessly working to restore safety and order.

During times of crisis, McDonald’s is committed to providing comfort and nourishment. We continue to work with our partner local government units to provide the necessary assistance for affected areas through the McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen.

Margot B. Torres, Managing Director of McDonald’s Philippines

This initiative is part of McDonald's ongoing commitment to community support. The company plans to extend its assistance as recovery efforts progress, ensuring that food security remains a priority for affected families.

Those wishing to contribute to the food assistance efforts can donate through the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) by visiting their website.
