Universal Robina Corp. (URC) Flour is taking its Sugod Bakery Caravan to Mindanao for the first time this August, aiming to support local bakers in Davao City and Cagayan de Oro.
Empowering Local Bakers Through Skills Training
"Our mission with the Sugod Bakery Caravan goes beyond introducing our products — it is about making baking and technical expertise accessible to every corner of the country," said Naida Ebora, commercial director of URC Flour.
- First stop: Davao City on August 14-15 during the Kadayawan Festival
- Second stop: Cagayan de Oro on August 25-26 for the Higalaay Festival
The caravan will feature hands-on baking demonstrations and technical sessions, designed to equip local bakery owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with essential skills and business insights.
Ebora emphasized that the initiative seeks to share innovative baking techniques while providing tools for profitability and growth in their businesses.
This outreach aligns with URC's broader commitment to enhance the baking sector in the Philippines, especially in regions often underserved by training resources.
The events in both cities will coincide with well-attended local festivals, offering greater exposure and engagement with community members and stakeholders in the baking industry.
During the festival stops, local professionals and the public are invited to participate, creating opportunities for skill enhancement and networking.
