The Insurance Commission (IC) has mandated the shutdown of two insurance firms due to serious violations of operating regulations.
In a decision dated March 11, the IC ordered Vigattin Insurance and Antz Insurance Agency & Services to stop their unauthorized activities. The investigation revealed that both companies failed to comply with necessary licensing requirements.
Antz Insurance holds valid licenses for four companies but was found acting as an agent for others without proper approval. Vigattin Insurance, on the other hand, was never registered as an insurance agent.
The IC emphasized that Vigattin operates independently from Antz, despite its claims of being merely a trademark.
Consequences for Violations
As part of the ruling, the IC suspended Antz Insurance’s licenses and ordered Vigattin to deactivate its website. Both firms must also repay any commissions earned from their unauthorized activities.
