The Social Security System (SSS) is enhancing its outreach in Bulacan by forming partnerships with two local cooperatives, aiming to improve access to social security services for residents.

On June 19, 2026, SSS Acting Executive Vice President Antonio S. Argabioso signed agreements with the Kapit Bisig sa Pag-Unlad Multipurpose Cooperative (KBSP MPC) and the San Pedro de Alcantara Kilusang Bayan sa Pananalapi at Industriya Multipurpose Cooperative (SPAKBPI MPC) in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Improving Access to Benefits

SSS is a necessity, not an expense. With the aggressiveness of SSS in expanding coverage, no one should be left behind.

These partnerships will allow the cooperatives to serve as accredited SSS Collecting Agents, enabling them to collect contributions and loan payments on behalf of their members.

  • KBSP MPC has approximately 2,000 members.
  • SPAKBPI MPC serves around 6,700 members.

Argabioso emphasized that this collaboration aims to establish small SSS offices within communities, enhancing the agency's reach and service delivery.

Members will benefit from easier access to essential SSS services, including contributions, loan applications, and various benefit claims such as maternity, disability, and retirement.

This initiative is part of SSS's broader strategy to extend its coverage to self-employed individuals, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and informal sector workers.
