Executive Vice President James Roy Villareal confirmed that the board approved P3 billion for capital expenditures aimed at enhancing renewable energy initiatives.
The funds will be utilized for deploying battery energy storage systems (BESS) and expanding solar power capabilities, crucial for managing electricity supply during peak demand.
Villareal noted that SPC Power plans to launch BESS projects this year, contributing 160 megawatt hours to the grid by late 2026.
Additionally, the company aims to build 100 megawatts of solar capacity, with activation expected in the next few years.
