- Beyond Barriers: Empowering People Through Disability Awareness training on June 16.
- SM Supermalls Nationwide Orientation on the Safe Spaces Act on June 29.
The 'Beyond Barriers' initiative focused on understanding the needs of persons with disabilities. Experts from organizations like the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines Inc. provided insights into fostering inclusion.
The Safe Spaces Act orientation aimed to educate security, janitorial, and customer relations personnel about Republic Act 11313. The law seeks to combat gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between SM Supermalls and the Philippine Commission on Women during the June 29 orientation.
These initiatives are part of SM's broader Mall for All initiative, recognizing the vital role of frontliners in creating respectful and safe environments for all customers.
By fostering empathy and understanding, SM Supermalls aims to ensure that every visitor feels valued and included.
