Ramon S. Ang has appointed his eldest son, John Paul Ang, as the new president and chief operating officer of Petron Corp., the largest oil company in the Philippines.

While John Paul takes on this new role, Ramon S. Ang will remain as the chair and chief executive officer, a position he has held since February 2015.

John Paul Ang's leadership comes at a crucial time as global fuel markets are experiencing volatility due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Prior to this appointment, John Paul Ang served as a director at Petron since March 2021. He is also an executive within the San Miguel group, where he has been president and COO since June 2021.

In addition to his role at Petron, John Paul is the president and CEO of San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc., and holds various leadership positions in other San Miguel-related companies.
