Morph, a prominent Web3 platform, has partnered with Blockchain4Youth and DvCode Technologies Inc. to launch the 'Build In! Payments' hackathon. This initiative, which started on May 18, aims to create innovative digital payment solutions tailored for the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

The hackathon, which will run until May 29, offers a prize pool totaling $3,500 USDC. It invites participation from developers, designers, students, and startup founders. Teams of three to four members are encouraged to build working applications rather than submitting mere concepts.

Focused Tracks to Address Payment Challenges

The competition is structured around five specific tracks that tackle prevalent issues in the payment landscape:

  • Cross-Border Remittance
  • SME Payments
  • Payroll and B2B
  • FX Treasury
  • x402 Agentic Payments

These tracks aim to address localized challenges, such as high remittance fees and delayed merchant settlements. The grand prize for the overall winner includes $1,200 USDC, a feature within the Morph ecosystem, and a call with an accelerator.

Additionally, each individual track winner will receive $300 USDC, and there are separate awards of $400 USDC for the Community Choice and the best team comprising students or participants under 25.

Submission Guidelines and Evaluation

Participants must submit a 200-word project write-up along with a public demo link, a two-minute demo video, and three public progress updates. The evaluation criteria will consider technical execution, real-world application, product design, innovation, and presentation quality.

Judging will take place from June 1 to June 2, culminating in an awarding ceremony on June 4 at a venue yet to be announced.

Regulations and Intellectual Property

As part of the event regulations, all projects must be developed during the competition period, although teams can build upon existing projects as long as significant new features are added. Participants are allowed to use AI tools in their development process and retain full ownership of their intellectual property.
