Innovative Chocolates from Bukidnon
Anitu Forest Chocolates, created by Marvi Montecillo, exemplifies sustainable practices. The farm utilizes regenerative methods to produce cacao, which is then transformed into artisan chocolates. Their model ties consumer purchasing directly to forest expansion.
Rain-Catchers for Clean Water
O1nnovations, co-founded by Augustus Nicko Bas, addresses water scarcity in Agusan del Sur. Their gravity-powered rain-catcher systems provide clean water to floating communities, reducing reliance on expensive and unsafe water sources.
Mushroom Farming in Marawi
After being displaced by conflict, Sittie Aireen Lomangcolob and her community turned to mushroom farming. With support, they transformed sawdust into a substrate for growing mushrooms, creating economic opportunities and promoting conservation.
A Broader Movement
The Climate Action Showcase also featured innovations from Luzon and Visayas. These included sustainable textiles, energy-efficient appliances, and community-driven recycling initiatives, demonstrating a nationwide commitment to addressing climate issues.
