Metro Pacific Water (MPW) has stepped in as the interim operator for the water supply of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, effective June 5, 2026. This decision comes after the city government concluded that a substantial number of households faced service interruptions.

Transition from PrimeWater to Metro Pacific Water

The appointment followed a formal operations and maintenance agreement signed on May 20, 2026, which facilitated the local government's takeover of the water supply operations from PrimeWater. The previous operator faced scrutiny due to service deficiencies.

This milestone is not only about changing the operator. It is about restoring accountability, proper service, and dignity to every family that has long endured the city’s water problems.

MPW will not only operate the water service system but also assess the existing infrastructure, including pipelines and pumping stations. This assessment is part of a broader effort to ensure reliable water distribution for residents.

Andrew Pangilinan, MPW's president and CEO, acknowledged the challenge of restoring reliable water service and promised improvements within a year. He emphasized that the rehabilitation of the water system would require careful planning and collaboration.
