This request was made on September 15, 2026, as the agency aims to sustain essential services like the fuel subsidy and free ride initiatives.
Key Programs Under Threat
LTFRB Acting Chairperson Greg Pua highlighted the importance of these programs, which include the 'Libreng Sakay' initiative on the Edsa busway and the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP). The request comes in light of the ban on public funds disbursement imposed by Comelec during the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections set for November 2, 2026.
The subject programs are continuing government programs and are not election-related or partisan activities.
